When Toonika was created its main mission was to offer unique instruments to young players. In the beginning, customers were served through a "showroom" which was located in Espoo. As demand grew, the company expanded by opening a store in Helsinki in 2017. Since then Toonika has become one of the most influential string instrument stores in Finland. Currently we serve talents of all ages and ability. Even top professionals can find quality instruments that fit their playing style in Toonika's selection. Welcome to our store! Heikki Takkula
Heikki Takkula is the CEO of Toonika Oy. Heikki started studying cello at the age of 7 in Oulu. At a young age Heikki began studying at the Sibelius Academy and later abroad. Along with his studies, Heikki gradually became an advisor for his friends and helped them find fitting instruments. The increased number of instrument inquiries eventually led to a shop in Helsinki. As a son of the North, Heikki has not forgotten his roots and Toonika's customers are still served through a remote point in Oulu. Heikki also enjoys making networking and establishing new contacts abroad, and in Toonika's workshop you can often see international violin builders doing trimming and maintenance work. Known as a tough sportsman, Heikki follows the example of the football club Liverpool in Toonika's customer service: "You'll never walk alone".
